The Gwinnett Braves topped the Charlotte Knights, 5-4, in International League action at Coolray Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Gwinnett pitcher Matt Engel. Lance Hearty closed it out for his 13th save. The loss makes Charlotte 40-17.

The Braves got a big at-bat from left fielder Gary Tishler. For the game, Tishler went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Gwinnett a 3-1 lead.

"Matt doing his thing just hyped us all up," said Gwinnett manager Danny White.
