Lantry Spins Masterpiece, No-Hits Buffalo
|
Billy Lantry was just plain nasty on the mound, overpowering the Buffalo Bisons in a complete game no-hitter.
The right-hander used his signature fastball to perfection as the Syracuse Chiefs waltzed to an easy 8-0 win.
"He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager Casey Bac said later.
In a dominant performance, Lantry faced 33 batters in all and finished the game with 10 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Lantry said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."
This season, Lantry has a 6-0 record with a 2.01 ERA in 3 starts.
