Yard Goats Spill RubberDucks, 7-5
The Hartford Yard Goats handed the Akron RubberDucks a loss at Canal Park. The final score was 7-5. Jonathan Mendenhall was one of the major contributors for Hartford. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lance Broski earned the win. Andrew Maham took the loss for Akron. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Bryson Moffatt.

Mendenhall had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Andrew Maham, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Yard Goats a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mendenhall.

"We take it day by day here," said Mendenhall, "and today was a good one for us."

Hartford goes to 39-15. The win puts them 13 games up in their division.
