The Rochester Red Wings and Pawtucket Red Sox delighted fans at McCoy Stadium.

Pawtucket Red Sox starter Edgar Pereira was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Rochester Red Wings, 3-1. Pereira, now 8-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

In the bottom of the sixth, Mark Pearson delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Pawtucket center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Red Sox in front, 3-1.

"I liked his command," said Pawtucket manager Philip Vasquez. "Edgar was throwing strikes."

The win elevated the Red Sox to 36-27.
