Fightin Phils Pull Off Thrilling 3-2 Win in Extras
|
The Reading Fightin Phils faced a tough opponent in Binghamton pitcher Juan Morales, but still scratched out a win at FirstEnergy Stadium by a final score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Morales went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reading reliever Juan Aguilar was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Danny Miranda. Reading, at 26-28, occupies 4th place in the Southern Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Gordie Green in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Miranda to win the game for Reading. The home crowd went nuts.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Daniel Rapp, the Reading manager.
