Knights Bump Off Indians, 5-4
|
The Charlotte Knights picked up a win at BB&T Stadium, topping the Indianapolis Indians, 5-4. On the mound for Charlotte was right-hander Colin Stack. He played a principal role in the triumph. Stack, now 5-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Charlotte.
Mike Richard had a big 2-run double for the Knights in the bottom of the second inning. With Charlotte trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Scott Connell and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 3-2.
"Colin was in attack mode the whole game," said Charlotte manager Nick Zlomke.
