The Norfolk Tides picked up a win at Harbor Park, knocking off the Toledo Mud Hens, 4-2. Starting pitcher Carlos Lucero played a key role in the triumph. Lucero got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Norfolk is second in the South Division with a record of 35-34.

The Mud Hens had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Tides going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old right fielder Joe McNally came to the plate. McNally hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 fastball from Toledo hurler Tim Wood. It was McNally's 5th double of the year.
