Braves Rally For 4-2 Win
|
Durham Bulls Athletic Park was the site of a competitive game between the Durham Bulls and Gwinnett Braves.
The Gwinnett Braves had to overcome a fine effort from Durham pitcher Tony Luster to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Luster went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Gwinnett reliever Danny Lowery was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Ricky Ratzlaff took the loss. Aaron Higgs finished to wrap up his 8th save.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Jorge Figueira's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Gwinnett left fielder hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Good win for us," said Figueira. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
Gwinnett is now 31-38.
