Nick Palmer pitched well, but the Syracuse Chiefs still lost the game, falling, 3-1, to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at NBT Bank Stadium. Lehigh Valley pitcher Stephen Anders earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Nick Palmer suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Nate Williams.

Left Fielder Jake Romer made an impact for Lehigh Valley, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Nick Palmer in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Romer was 1 for 4 with a double.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Mark Holgate, the Syracuse manager.

The last-place IronPigs sport a record of 29-41.
