The Albuquerque Isotopes ushered in the 2099 season with a win versus the El Paso Chihuahuas at Isotopes Park. The final score was 9-2. Starting Pitcher Victor Gonzalez had a standout performance. Gonzalez went the distance for Albuquerque. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits.

Javy Sanchez had a big 2-run double for the Isotopes in the bottom of the third inning. With Albuquerque leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a forkball from David Cruz and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 5-2.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Isotopes manager Caleb Eldridge.
