The Albuquerque Isotopes got a good effort from starter Paul Covey in defeating the El Paso Chihuahuas at Isotopes Park. The final score was 4-2. Covey picked up the win for Albuquerque, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Leonardo Duran earned the save for Albuquerque, his 1st of the year.

The Isotopes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josh Gerstein. For the game, Gerstein was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Albuquerque a 2-0 lead.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Gerstein said.
