Getting a good performance from catcher Jimmy McClanahan, the Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Reno Aces, 6-4. McClanahan was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Grizzlies. The save went to Danny Torres, his 1st this season. The loss puts Reno at 1-2.

McClanahan contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Fresno in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, McClanahan took a splitter from Seth Thornton and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Grizzlies to leap in front, 4-1.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," McClanahan told the Fresno Daily. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
