Late Rally by Rainiers Locks Up 3-2 Win
|
The Tacoma Rainiers had to overcome a good performance from Sacramento pitcher Justin Paglione to claim a 3-2 win at Cheney Stadium. Paglione went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Tacoma pitcher Geoff Gross got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mel Arreola got the loss. Tacoma now has a record of 2-2.
Trevor Nicolia drove in one run for Tacoma. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mel Arreola. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Nicolia.
