Noriega Leads 51s to Win
The Las Vegas 51s did just enough to secure a victory over the Salt Lake Bees, 7-6, at Smith's Ballpark. Nobody did more than first baseman Dave Noriega. Tommy Diamond, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits in 9 innings. Salt Lake drops to 2-2.

Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Chad Ammerman to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the 51s on top, 7-6. For the game, Ammerman had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ammerman. "And not try to do too much."
