In a tight tilt between the Albuquerque Isotopes and the El Paso Chihuahuas, Ernie Lowery was the deciding factor. The Albuquerque left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The win gives the Isotopes a record of 4-1.

The Isotopes got a big hit from center fielder Doug Armstrong. Facing El Paso pitcher Allen Leslie in the bottom of the fifth, Armstrong pounded a 2-run home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Isotopes ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped El Paso manager Matt Pace. "Obviously."
