Sky Sox Handled by New Orleans, 8-0
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the New Orleans Zephyrs and Colorado Springs Sky Sox were able to complete their ballgame.
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox had their hands full with New Orleans Zephyrs starter Jon Brenke, who frustrated Colorado Springs hitters while leading New Orleans to a comfortable, 8-0 win. The loss makes Colorado Springs 4-2.
Dillon Cutting took Colorado Springs hurler Adan Silva deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Zephyrs on top, 2-0. In all, Cutting had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"I'm happy we won," said Brenke. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
