Zephyrs Handle Sky Sox, 6-2
|
The New Orleans Zephyrs got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris Gebhardt, who handcuffed the Colorado Springs offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Zephyr Field. Gebhardt got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Gebhardt allowed no runs. Colorado Springs, with the loss, is 1-5.
In the bottom of the fourth, New Orleans shortstop Jim Unknown had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Unknown stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, New Orleans. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
In comments to the New Orleans Daily, Unknown insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
