Memphis third baseman Luis Saez had a 4-RBI game, which proved instrumental in his team beating the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 9-8. Saez picked up 1 single and 2 doubles in the ballgame. Bill Reed picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. C.J. Petry was tagged with the loss. Danny Cortez got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Saez had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch slider from C.J. Petry, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Redbirds a 9-6 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Saez.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Jon Hoffmann, the Memphis skipper.

The win puts Memphis at 3-3.
