The Albuquerque Isotopes beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-1, at Cheney Stadium. The Isotopes got a fine performance from third baseman Benny Scanlon, who was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Albuquerque reliever Dave Vallee, now 1-1. The loser was Jose Rebolloso. With the loss, Tacoma drops to 1-6.

With Albuquerque leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Scanlon hit a curveball from Jose Rebolloso for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Isotopes ahead, 2-0.

"It all comes down to execution," said Albuquerque manager Caleb Eldridge. "Baseball 101."
