|
The 4-3 Tacoma win over El Paso was due largely to Bobby Ruiz. The Rainiers first baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Sal Vera notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Alberto Murguia was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Tacoma took a 4-3 lead on Nick Moats's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Moats hit in the bottom of the eighth, left El Paso pitcher Mark Carnathan visibly frustrated.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Tacoma manager John Conway.
The loss makes El Paso 4-5.
