Isotopes Score Late to Upend River Cats, 2-1
|
Sacramento got a valiant performance from pitcher Luis Murillo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Albuquerque Isotopes. Albuquerque won the game, 2-1. Murillo threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Albuquerque reliever Miles Bishop picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Luis Murillo took the loss. The Isotopes, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Tony Breitling hit a single. The Isotopes went on to win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Breitling said.
