Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Las Vegas 51s and Sacramento River Cats.

Despite the exploits of designated hitter Luke Reinkemeyer, the Sacramento River Cats were beaten by the Las Vegas 51s, 7-6, in 10 innings. Reinkemeyer was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bryce Robles snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Justin Gage suffered the loss.

Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Jack Machamer to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the 51s on top, 6-4. For the game, Machamer had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Jeff Elgin, the Las Vegas skipper.

Sacramento is 7-4 after the loss.
