Chihuahuas Slap 7-4 Loss on Fresno
|
Though he had a terrific game, Jimmy McClanahan could not prevent his team, the Fresno Grizzlies, from absorbing a loss. El Paso won the game, 7-4. McClanahan went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Bill Spencer claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 2-0. The Grizzlies drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2110 season.
El Paso shortstop Aaron Podolak contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Chihuahuas ahead, 5-3.
"We took home the win," said Podolak. "What's not to like?"
