Jeremy Hammonds did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the El Paso Chihuahuas from losing, 6-5, to the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park. Hammonds was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. After losing, El Paso is 10-4.

Agustin Vargas aided the Fresno cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"It feels good to get this one," Vargas told the Fresno Gazette.
