Chihuahuas Earn 8-2 Win Versus Sacramento
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas powered past the Sacramento River Cats, 8-2, at Southwest University park. Davy Lewis provided some of the pop. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nate Seiler came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The loss drops Sacramento to 8-7.
In the bottom of the sixth, El Paso designated hitter Sherman Pompa had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Pompa stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-2, El Paso. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Pompa. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
