Zephyrs 3-2 Losers to Colorado Springs
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox did just enough to sneak past the New Orleans Zephyrs, 3-2, at Security Service Field. Colorado Springs pitcher Adan Silva, in particular, had a standout performance. Joe Wilkin was credited with the save for Colorado Springs, his 4th of the season. The Sky Sox now own a record of 78-62.
Colorado Springs took the lead, 3-0, on Rich Coronado's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run came off New Orleans pitcher Ezequiel Escobedo in the bottom of the eighth.
"It was a real good effort by Adan," said Colorado Springs manager Nate Bouse. "I loved the way he bore down."
