Chihuahuas Handed 3-1 Loss by Fresno
|
The Fresno Grizzlies and El Paso Chihuahuas played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Fresno Grizzlies and the El Paso Chihuahuas. Fresno won it, 3-1. Fresno starter Seth Tindel was in command. Tindel yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-2. David Muacho earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Billy Mejia, who is tied for 5th in the PC in hits with 22, took El Paso hurler Marut Grkasharian deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Grizzlies on top, 2-0. In all, Mejia had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
Mejia called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
Fresno now has a record of 8-8.
