The rain did not keep Round Rock and Iowa from finishing their game.

The Round Rock Express dumped the Iowa Cubs, 9-6, in large part due to shortstop Tony Solorio. On the day, Solorio was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times for the Express. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Bengie McNealy. He tossed 60 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Salvatore Ayala didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Iowa trailing 8-6, Ayala retired John Kincaid to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Ayala, with a wink.
