Chiefs Spill Bisons, 6-1
|
Casey Manning imposed his will on the Bisons from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 6-1 Syracuse triumph. The winner was Manning. He threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was John Ferch. Buffalo falls to 1-2.
Making an impact for the home team was Enrique Alamilla. In the bottom of the fifth, the 24-year old third baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 3-1, Chiefs.
Manning called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
