In the 6-3 Albuquerque win over Tacoma, the impact of Gerardo Ruiz was substantial. Ruiz, who is tied for 5th in the PC in total bases with 43, was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win moves Albuquerque to a record of 10-8.
Ruiz contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Albuquerque in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Ruiz took a curveball from Aaron Craig and stroked the home run to left-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Isotopes to leap in front, 3-2.
"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Ruiz, "I can't complain."
