The Omaha Storm Chasers got a superb performance from third baseman Alex Rios. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Memphis. The Redbirds won the game, 9-8. Rios was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Reliever Calvin Carter picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Sean Robbins took the loss. The loss has the Storm Chasers at 10-9.

The Redbirds got a big at-bat from shortstop Cássio Malhado. For the game, Malhado went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Memphis a 6-3 lead.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Malhado.
