Grizzlies Come Back Late, Nip Chihuahuas
|
The Fresno Grizzlies besoiled an otherwise fine performance by El Paso center fielder Bobby Newman by beating the Chihuahuas, 5-4, at Southwest University park. Newman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Fresno climbs to 8-11.
The Grizzlies got a big at-bat from center fielder Manny Aguayo. For the game, Aguayo went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Fresno a 3-2 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Fresno manager Mike Gibson.
