Storm Chasers Lose Late, 5-3
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers got a sterling performance from pitcher Nate Wagner, but the Oklahoma City Dodgers still prevailed, 5-3. Wagner threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Picking up the save was Josh Salvino, his 1st. Early on, the Dodgers, at 15-5, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
Oklahoma City used the clutch hitting of Joe Boyer to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Dodgers the lead, 5-3. For the game, Boyer had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Boyer attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
