Down to Defeat Goes El Paso, 5-3
|
With third baseman Ben Abbott leading the charge, the Salt Lake Bees defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 5-3, at Smith's Ballpark. Abbott, who is tied for 5th in the PC with a .489 on-base percentage, went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jim Kolling closed it out for his 2nd save. The Bees, now 16-6, have hit the ground running this season.
Steve Rasmussen hit a 2-run double off Tony Navarro in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Bees in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Rasmussen had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Abbott.
