Redbirds Suffer 4-3 Setback
Memphis got a terrific game from designated hitter Jeremiah Ford. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Nashville, 4-3. Ford went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. John Thrailkill picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-4. He struck out 4 in 7 innings. The Redbirds, now 9-15, continue their poor start.

John Gilley dealt the Redbirds a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Nashville leading 3-1, Gilley, who is tied for 7th in the AC in triples with 1, hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gilley said after the game.
