River Cats Take Tight Tangle
Tacoma wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Sal Vera, falling to the Sacramento River Cats, 3-2. Vera threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. With the loss, Tacoma sinks to 13-11.

Mark Goree came through with a big-time hit for Sacramento. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Goree told the Sacramento News.
