Bees Inch Closer to .500 With 4-2 Win
The Salt Lake Bees got a stellar performance from pitcher Yuan Wang, who handcuffed the El Paso offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Southwest University park. Wang went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Reed recorded his 2nd save for Salt Lake.

Salt Lake used a clutch hit from Ryan Mascolino to get the win. The catcher drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bees ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

El Paso manager Travis Holm said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Salt Lake is now 12-13.
