Zephyrs Come Back Late to Top Sounds, 9-6
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Matt Sanchez, the Nashville Sounds lost to the New Orleans Zephyrs, 9-6. Sanchez went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New Orleans reliever Andrew Gibbs was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Mike O'Donovan took the loss. The win puts New Orleans at 10-15.

New Orleans used the timely hitting of Andy Jenkins to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Zephyrs on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the New Orleans Times, Jenkins said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
