Rainiers Lose By a Run at Sacramento
The Sacramento River Cats had to overcome a big game from Tacoma designated hitter Blake Wall to leave Raley Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-7. Wall went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Clay Carstairs in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kerry Johnson took the loss for Tacoma. Nick Woods locked down his 1st save.

Sacramento took the lead, 8-7, on Mark Goree's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Tacoma pitcher Kerry Johnson in the bottom of the seventh.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said River Cats manager Damian Rivera.

The win puts Sacramento at 13-12.
