Aces Turn Back River Cats, 4-2
|
Reno Aces starter Tyler Stegman turned in an exceptional performance against the Sacramento River Cats at Aces Ballpark, resulting in a Reno win, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Stegman, now 3-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 9. The win takes Reno to 11-15.
The Aces got a big at-bat from left fielder Matt Mountain. For the game, Mountain was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Reno a 3-1 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Mountain said after the game.
