Mountain Tosses Shutout Against Sacramento
The Sacramento River Cats were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Reno Aces and hurler Matt Mountain. Mountain kept the River Cats confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Mountain," Sacramento manager Brian Johnson said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 26-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Mountain said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

Looking at his stats this year, Mountain has compiled a .200 batting average, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 10 runs. He has played in 17 games and scored 8 runs.
