River Cats Win 6-5 Nail-Biter Versus Isotopes
|
The Sacramento River Cats picked up a win at Raley Field, knocking off the Albuquerque Isotopes, 6-5, in 10 innings. On the mound for Sacramento was right-hander Ryan DiPonio. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Jason Cranford, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The first-place River Cats have won 6 in a row.
The River Cats got a clutch hit from third baseman Dave Ortiz. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the River Cats.
"That's what good pitchers do," said Sacramento manager Elwiin de Lange. "They find a way."
