Tacoma Rainiers starter Josh McCurley hurled his team past the El Paso Chihuahuas, 3-1. The Rainiers sport a record of 11-18.

Had Ben Garves not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Garves hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rainiers.

"Josh's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Tacoma manager John Conway.
