Chihuahuas Rally For Late Win Over Express

The El Paso Chihuahuas trumped the Round Rock Express, 7-5, at Dell Diamond. El Paso catcher Paul Higgins was terrific. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. El Paso pitcher Jason Erck earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Cody Dunn suffered the loss. Round Rock has now lost 5 in a row.
Brent Newhouse came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said El Paso manager Matt Pace.
