David Cortez was a major contributor to the 6-2 El Paso win over Oklahoma City. The Chihuahuas shortstop was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Carlton Dunsmore snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2.2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. With the win, El Paso pushed its record to 24-11.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Cortez hit a 2-run single off Pete Bettencourt. It propelled the Chihuahuas into the lead, 4-2.
