Red Sox Reel In 8-1 Win
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox and starting pitcher Eric Bobinski stifled the Scranton WB offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at PNC Field. In 7.1 innings, Bobinski surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Pawtucket sits at 2-3 in the early going.
Dan O'Brien had a big run-scoring triple for the Red Sox in the top of the third inning. With Pawtucket leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Raul Novoa and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Sox ahead, 2-0.
"We were firing on all cylinders," said Red Sox manager Chris Harris.
