Rainiers Win Thriller, 5-4
|
Memphis got a decent performance from pitcher Bill Rosario, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tacoma Rainiers. Tacoma won the Cheney Stadium contest, 5-4. Rosario threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. The second-place Rainiers improved to 15-20.
Adam Barker was the walk-off hero for Tacoma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainiers pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Barker said in his postgame press conference.
