Grizzlies Beat Iowa, 3-2
|
The Fresno Grizzlies topped the Iowa Cubs, 3-2, in Pacific Conference action at Principal Park. The standout performance belonged to Fresno pitcher and Rockford, Illinois, native Xavier Walls. The Grizzlies win now puts them at 19-16.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Trent Clow? The 25-year old first baseman Clow stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Fresno up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Xavier set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Fresno manager Mike Gibson.
