Chihuahuas Lose Late, 6-3
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Oklahoma City Dodgers defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 6-3, at Southwest University park. Oklahoma City right fielder Rob Gutierrez had a superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Oklahoma City reliever Zavier Fratis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Ross shouldered the loss.
Oklahoma City used the clutch hitting of Kenny Palmer to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was a solid team effort," said Palmer after the game.
Oklahoma City now sits in first place in the American Conference North Division at 26-11.
