Starting pitcher Steve Gbur fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Memphis Redbirds stymie the El Paso Chihuahuas, 7-1. With the win over El Paso, the Redbirds improved to 17-19.

Miguel Lopez hit a run-scoring double off Danny Gonzalez in the bottom of the second, which put the Redbirds in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Lopez had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
