The inspired effort of Charlotte third baseman Gilberto Frausto was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-7, to the Gwinnett Braves. Frausto was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win has Gwinnett at 5-0.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Gwinnett trailing 7-6, Alex Gonsalez hit a fastball from Bernie Carrillo to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Braves had a walk-off win.

"We kept coming at guys," Gwinnett manager Danny White said. "We kept digging."
