River Cats Earn 7-6 Win Versus Redbirds
Memphis second baseman Willie Martinez was sensational. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Sacramento beat the Redbirds, 7-6. With the win over Memphis, the River Cats improved to 26-14.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Sacramento pinch hitter Jeff Cox, facing Calvin Carter, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the River Cats the 7-6 win.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Cox said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
